There are a few simple steps that you can take to speed up the process and help get your project underway as soon as possible.
Know what you’re looking for
It’s important to take some time to think about how you want to utilise your roof space. Why not create a Pinterest board? This is an excellent way to gather inspiration.
Check your planning rights
Depending on what type of property you have and what type of area you live in, you may require planning permission. If you do need to apply for planning permission, don’t worry our team will help you every step of the way.
Where’s your water tank?
Newer houses with modern heating systems likely won’t have one, however, there are still many homes in the UK that still have in-attic water tanks.
If you find one or two tanks for ventilated heating systems, then you’ll need to consider how you’ll want to handle them.
If the tanks are tucked out of the way and won’t interfere with your conversion, you’ll probably be able to leave them where they are. And, if they’re in the way, and you’re still reliant on them, then we’ll help you move them.
Inspect your roof membrane
You’ll need to make sure that your roof membrane is in good condition before going ahead with a loft conversion. You need to have a solid roof membrane in order to pass building regulations.
Speak to the pros and arrange a consultation
Now it’s time to contact the Loft Conversion specialists (us!). From here, we’ll arrange a home visit where we’ll measure your head height and chat you through the process of Loft Conversion in Clapham.
We’ll then sit down with you and answer any questions that you may have. This will also be an opportunity for you to share your design ideas and end goals.
