Designing your dream bathroom

If you’ve decided it’s time to expand your home and install a whole new suite in your unused loft, you’re probably ready to start designing your dream bathroom. But where do you start? What designs are going to work for your space? And where can you find high-quality fixtures that won’t cost the Earth?

Finding your style

There are so many things to consider when expanding your loft space into a new livable area. But, when you undertake a conversion with us, the only worries you’ll have, are what colours to paint your walls.

We know that when you’re already looking to spend between £20,000 to £50,000 on your new loft, money can play a big part in every decision. Discovering which styles, patterns, and appliances you want to include in your new bathroom is the fun part of the process, and while you’ll need to consider finances, you won’t want to be held back by budget.

That’s why we recommend our customers begin their search with Victoria Plum. We’ve worked closely with the team at Victoria Plum for a number of years, and for a good reason. Offering nearly everything you could need for a top-end bathroom, you’ll be able to find all of your appliances, units, and accessories in one place. And, based on a price to quality comparison, we’ve not found anyone who beats them, providing high-quality products for extremely competitive costs.

Picturing your space

Part of the decision when designing your new bathroom will be where in the loft to build it. Front? Side? Back? Where will you be able to make the most of your space? And are there any extra factors that you should consider?

Generally, a loft conversion bathroom towards the back of the house will likely give you the most space, and the option for skylights will allow you to create a bright and airy feel. But, this could mean you lose some head height in other rooms. Positioning your bathroom at the front of the house (in the sloping part of the roof) will likely allow for more headspace in the back room (in the Dormer part) which is a more usable living space, for bedrooms or offices.

Having your bathroom at the front of your home could require some additional plumbing work too. In some cases, we’ll need to install a macerator to push waste to the soil pipe at the back of the home.

Bath, shower, or both?

Part of your design process will be to decide if you’d like to install a bath, shower, or both. If you’re short on square footage, then a shower could provide you with the most bang for your buck. More concerned about head height than area? Then a bath will be the right option for you. Or, if you have space, you could opt for having both in a standalone or combination fitting. If you’re unsure of what you think would be the right fit for your bathroom, we’ll be happy to advise you on size, fitting, and space requirements.

The doorway

When floor space is something to consider, even the entrance is up for discussion. In a standard bathroom, you’d fit a regular swing door. But in smaller bathrooms where you could be short on space, considering other options like a sliding pocket door could open you up to a less intrusive doorway.

It’s all taken care of

Here at SimplyEasy Refurbs, we take care of every detail, including construction, installation, electrics, plumbing, and even the painting. Prefer tiles? We have professionals for that too. No matter how big or small, complex or straightforward, if you find the products, we’ll fit them.

Before we begin on your project, we’ll send your personal project manager to meet with you and discuss your reimagined bathroom, to understand what you’re looking for and the products you have in mind.
